John Acquaviva is known primarily through his association with, and recordings for, Plus 8 Records, the label he founded with Richie Hawtin (aka Plastikman). Acquaviva is also one of the most prized techno DJs around the globe, as well as a multi-label entrepreneur -- he helms Probe and Definitive Records in addition to Plus 8. While growing up in London, Ontario, Acquaviva became a music lover and started DJing in 1980. He gradually accumulated a small bedroom studio of equipment to produce music similar to the Chicago and Detroit records

>> abe duque got much of his early musical understanding from his dad who was a gifted musician and evangelical minister. abe discovered djing in the 80’s when he became obsessed with vinyl and electronic dance music production. he bought his first synthesizer with money from his newspaper route and played his keyboard in his dad’s church. now we have his third album, “don’t be so mean”. like the earlier cds, it’s had its more pumping efforts released as hand-scratched vinyl releases for the fans.

If you Like MOBY; and if you like strings and pianos, and really robotic drumbeats, then this is the greatest record ever made! It is like a factory singing the most awe inspiring sounds.
I love MOBY but i have always prefered his b-side, and quiet instrumental songs to his hits. This is MOBY making his most passionate and brilliant music. Released around his brilliantly
dark Animal Rights Album; this carries the most challenging, and listenable music. If after you listen to this record you LOVE it...find the UK version...it is different...it includes a song called "Animal Sight" which is as epic and amazing as everything else on this record; and the song "Dog Heaven" is a much sexier, and funky version with a 4/4beat and tribal percusion underpinning an breathtaking strings break.
If you dig this record buy Play: the B-sides (because some of his moments on that LP have the same genius).MOBY is always best when no one is listening and he lets his heart make the music. Let me put it this way...i walked around in a trance for 3 days when i heard this record. It changed the way i saw everything around me.
